Copeland Scroll ZR Compressors are designed for high efficiency and reliability at their particular point of operation in air-conditioning and process cooling applications. The small footprint of Copeland Scroll compressors enables the design of compact equipment. The weight is reduced by up to 50% compared to other semi-hermetic technology.

All Copeland Scroll compressors use Teflon coated bearings. Even in demanding applications, Teflon acts as a lubricant when the oil film disappears in case of poor oil return to the compressor. Scroll compressors throw less oil in the system compared to other technologies.

All 2 hp to 6 hp compressors are supplied with internal thermal protectors that prevent motor overheating, in case of loss of phase or low refrigerant charge. All 7.5 hp to 30 hp models feature an electronic module that, in addition to ensuring discharge and motor temperature protections, provides missing phase detection and protects from reverse rotation, overloads, low refrigerant charge and low voltage.

All Copeland Scroll compressors are designed with a discharge check valve that isolates the high-pressure discharge gas.  It allows the compressor to start unloaded resulting in low inrush currents. Smooth operations are made possible by the continuous compression process. This generates less vibration than with reciprocating technology.
