Become a CO2 Specialist!
HVACR technicians from across Australia can achieve accredited CO2 training via the newly opened, Sydney Beijer Ref Academy. Beijer Ref and Superior Training Centre Pty Ltd (RTO ID Number 41122) have collaborated to offer the only nationally accredited CO2 course currently running in Australia on state-of-the-art equipment in a custom-built facility.
“This is an important step forward in the upskilling of technicians in CO2 systems technology. The training combines theory and practical and technicians are working on the latest equipment within the Beijer Ref Academy.”
Upon successful completion of the 2-day course attendees are awarded a statement of attainment (see below for details). The accreditation is authorised by Superior Training Centre and recorded against the technician’s unique student identifier.
Course Description
This course is composed of 2 units designed for air conditioning and refrigeration mechanics looking to upskill in CO2 refrigeration systems to comply with current safety legislation.
The unit UEERA0006 – Apply safety awareness and legal requirements for carbon dioxide refrigerant involves the skills and knowledge required to apply safety awareness and legal requirements for carbon dioxide (CO2) refrigerant. It includes applying safety and legal requirements when handling, using, and storing CO2 refrigerants. The skills and knowledge in this unit will be applied by those managing, supervising, or working in or near a location that contains refrigeration equipment using CO2 refrigerant. These could include managers, supervisors, maintenance staff, cleaners, employees and refrigeration and air conditioning technicians.
The unit UEERA0066 – Repair and service carbon dioxide refrigeration systems involves the skills and knowledge required to repair and service carbon dioxide (CO2) refrigeration systems. It includes servicing and repairing refrigeration equipment using CO2 as a refrigerant excluding self-contained trans-critical systems. It also includes applying safe working practices and refrigeration principles that apply to CO2; following service manuals; testing, locating and rectifying faults and defective components; and completing the necessary service documentation. The skills and knowledge in this unit will be applied by refrigeration and air conditioning technicians during the service and repair of refrigeration systems using CO2 refrigerant.
